Money Hungry

I seriously think that people are just money hungry these days!

If you follow me on twitter,
you know a couple days ago I got a bill from the school I withdrew from.
A bill.
And I was specifically told I was in the clear with them, no money owed.
Almost 2 months ago at that!

I am beyond upset and angry.
I don't have $880 to shell out!
I paid them Almost 30 grand for the crappy education I got.

Okay enough ranting,
I love the school, I really do.
It's just a lot of people at the school.
And the amount of money they are constantly trying to get from you.

I'm unsure where I am going this fall.
Ohio State?
I want to be there.
I love the small campus(it's a branch).
I would love living away from home again.
But I can't get ahold of anyone in housing.
I don't want to live without Dustin, again.

Or a small Tech School here to finish my Gen Eds?
It's right next to my mom's work.
It's cheap as crap!
I can stay at home.
I can work again!

What do you think?

Even after all the discouragement and troubles I've gone through since High School,
I still want to go to college. I still want to be a teach.

And I just got an awesome opportunity,
and some hope for people in this world that aren't money hungry.

They contacted me to write this post, but even if they hadn't, I would probably still be writing this.

They are dirt cheap.
And I mean that!

Psychology, David G. Myers, 1429215976

I had to use this Psychology book last semester.
Our bookstore only offered it to us brand new and I paid...
$160!
Well they have it for $20 a semester!

How ridiculous was my bookstore?
I will never be getting books anywhere else again!

And as if that is not good enough,
they also partner with..
http://www.operationsmile.org/img/living-proof/patient-stories/maria-before-and-after-241.jpg

Since partnering with them, they have donated over 1,000 life changing surgeries!
Are they not the best company ever?
I sure think so!

School Overwhelms Me to no end...

I wrote something similar to this for my speech class, and I decided to post something on here as well. Keep in mind this is an added on to outline from my speech class....not the best post! Suicide is soemthing that touched close to home to me for many reasons.

-----------------------------

According to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention,

Suicide is the third leading cause of death among those 15-24 years old.

You shouldn't die this young, and no one, should every feel the need to take their own life.
I always swore to myself growing up that I would never become just another negative statistic.

Imagine This.
You wake up disoriented. You can’t see much. There are spiders everywhere and your arms and legs are throbbing. Now you’re in a room with some doctors, the keep saying things about the hospital. Next thing you know, You walk into a hospital. Security takes you and makes you say goodbye to your parents. You realize you are leaving everything you know. You get searched. You get put into a room with someone. They introduce themselves. That’s your roommate. They have cuts and stitches all over their neck and arms. Suddenly you’re terrified as you realize they tried to kill themselves like that. You start to wonder if everything you originally thought was worth it at the time. Should I really have taken all those pills? Did I really need to make those cuts? Was my life that bad? You want to run. But now, you’re stuck.
This is what suicide did to me.

With that, I want you to know that,
I believe in happiness, never being truly alone, and love.

-Happiness
First, I want to tell you about my happiness. Before my Dad died, I found happiness in every aspect of my life. After he died it slowly went downhill. I noticed other people’s happiness changing around me. It seemed inevitable. In the hospital I learned that you need to find happiness in the small things. All the time. My happiness changed from laughing with best friends, movies, sleepovers, and video games. To coloring books, daily phone calls home, and watching Alvin and the Chipmunks for good behavior. That’s happiness in the psych ward. Sitting in a room with 4 other people, no one touching, watching a movie rated PG and having our nightly snack and medicine run. That was our idea of a good time. My life drastically changed when I left the hospital. I love life. I love seeing other people happy. And I love being happy.

-Never being truly alone
I always thought I was alone, and I realized that I have friends, and family who love me.  There are strangers around you that 100% truly care about you. Most of you don’t know me, but I am there for you. And you always have God. I never really believed in God until one day we had a “Rap with the Chap” session. The hospital Chaplain came in and had 1 on 1 time with us. He told me that it is okay to need alone time. It’s okay to grieve. But it is never okay to push people away. Especially when you need them the most. He opened my eyes to God and showed me that even in our darkest, most alone times, God is always there.

-Love
You know the song, “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles? I think they were on to something. Whether you have a boyfriend, girlfriend, spouse, children, best friend or pet; you always have love by your side. I believe in loving, and loving with your whole heart. Why love someone or something just a little bit? If you know me, you know I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I will put everyone, even strangers, above myself. And who has a love for us greater than we know? God. He will never back down, he will always love you.

With all that said, I believe with Happiness, Never truly being alone, and love,
we can significantly increase enjoyment with life and never get in the position I was once in.
You will be okay, things change, and things truly will get better!
Nothing is ever worth hurting yourself, or worse.

Don’t let yourself become a statistic. You are so much more than that.

"Jesus Freak"

Before I started school at The Naz, I always referred to the students as "Jesus Freaks"
I mean come on!
Chapel three times a week and Church?!

Now I go to school at The Naz.
I am not religious.
I do not attend Church.
I don't call myself a Christian.
I do believe in God.
I do pray.

Right now, I am in a class where we study the Bible.
I did not own a Bible before this class.
I went to our local Gospel Supply shop and bought this.
(only mine was 44.99...whattt!?)

I love this thing!
It is so much different than any other Bible I have seen...I will show you the inside one day.

Anyways...on with my point.
As I am reading Genesis I see this:

Find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted. Light a few candles--enough that you can read what follows.

Read Genesis 1:26-27. Several Times. Out loud. Emphasize different words. Savor the feel of truth rolling around your mouth. Hear it drift into the shadows as you speak.

You are wonderously made.
Deliberately Made.
Not a creature of coincidence.
Not a random consequence.
Wonderously.
Deliberately.
Made.
Crafted by God.
Crafted for a purpose, a promise.
A gift not to be squandered.
Or cheapened.
Or tossed aside by other...or yourself.
Wonderous.
Deliberate.
Loved.
Loved in a way that cannot be ignored.
Loved with a passion that inspires a response.
How will you respond to God's love?
Embrace it? Reject it?
Either way, it's a response.
Respond.
Respond now...right now.
With words...or tears...or laughter.
Soak in God's love. Open your hands, you heart, to it.
You were made for it.

&Just so you have the verse and don't have to go finding it, here it is :

Genesis 1:26-27

New Living Translation (NLT)
26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
27 So God created human beings in his own image.
      In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Just remember how amazing you are and that you have a purpose.

My Love

This week I have felt so dissconnected with technology.
I swear, I have been having an extremely crappy week.
But I know that this weekend my Soulie is coming home :)
I can't wait!
So here is my 10 on 10, and Embrace the Camera, and a little Soulie lovee :D

My friend Zach and I at school...neither of us were very pleased for this picture hehe
I'm telling you, my phone takes the worst pictures.
But I thought these faucets were awfully pretty for a public bathroom..shows what a $30,000 a year college gets ya ;)
We are not allowed to have phones in this class, so quickly, me being such a rebel hiding my phone like a coward, snapped this photo.

 Yummmm!
Welcome to my, "It's Friday and I am lazy" day :)
Baby X <3 I cannot get enough of him!
 My two boys :')
(he hates this picture and begged me not to post this, but how could I not?)
My friends have their laptop hooked up to their 52 inch tv...Wow!
The soulie <3 I will be seeing her lovely face tomorrow! Can't wait :)
This is what we are thinking of doing to our bedroom when we move. We already have gray bedding and wanted to stick with a gray/black/green theme. I just think using green as our main wall color is too much.
What do you think?
Also curtesoy to the boy for this lovely image :)

xoxo Meghan

P.S. Sorry I am an hour late...we were gone all night and I fail :(

High 5 Friday # 2

I am doing a quick update from my lovely cafe on campus :)
I will be doing another one tonight for 10 on 10!

1
I wanted to share a funny little thing that recently happened to me. I belong to this page on facebook called "My county Online Yard Sale" And it is people all around our county who post whatever the heck they wanna sell! I met a girl on there, Shelby, and we had so much in common is was CRAZY! We had planned on swapping sweatshirts soon instead of buying them off each other since we are similar in size. Welll we both suck and never met up, and randomly she informs me We are cousins! Like whaaaat?! Turns out my biological dad(who you can read more about here where I write a letter to him and my adoptive Dad) has a sister I never knew about, and she had a son, and Shelby married him. Ta da! You made it through my entire rambling story :) Congrats!

2
I spent the entire day yesterday in the ER with Baby X's mom, thankfully she is okay, just has a lot of things hitting her all at once.

This is my lunch, looks pretty yummy for hospital food, right? Wrong! The Ham and Cheese sandwich you see, had nacho cheese on it. Not normal cheese, nasty gooey nacho cheese. Ugh...just thinking about it is making me feel sick.

3
My week as consisted of TONS of reading, the downfall of a new semester, Public Speaking, History and Faith, Writing, and the Bible. Overload to the max! Thank god for cranberry juice and yogurt :)

4
No pretty picture to go along with this, but I get my student loan money soon, and tax money, and let's just say I will be having some nice outfit posts coming up ;)
I can't wait to buy some new threads!

5
I have never posted about this, but our dryer broke. Completely. So what do we do? Wash all our clothes and haul them to the laundromat...but my lovely mother is going to fix it with her tax moneyyy! WOOOO HOOO!!!
(for all who don't know, I live with my mom while going to school (: )

That's all for this post, gotta head to class :)

xoxo Meghan

Your light will shine when all else fades

I know my blogs are few and far between, but I'm working on it!

Unlike my last post, this one is a drastic change! Everything seems to be going so well in my life right now, I am cautiously waiting for the next thing to go wrong. And with things this perfect, it's gotta be something big...right? :/

I.Love.College. I truly do. So yeah, maybe I am that dorky kid who sits in the back of class taking notes all day. And I just might be the girl who has ZERO friends. And I may hate my philosophy class with everything in me. BUT, I love college :)

I love my education classes. I love that tomorrow I start my field placement. aka, I start going into a school with a teacher, helping, doing lessons, etc. I love knowing I am going to start making a difference in children's lives already! This is so much more than I ever anticipated my freshman year. One neat thing is my niece is in my class tomorrow and possibly my half-sister. I'm not 100% how I feel about that second part. Actually, I guess I shouldn't dwell on it. I mean, she probably doesn't remember me after all these years anyways. But how awesome to see her and her growth right before me :) I will be sure to post ASAP!

Dustin came back from Connecticut...see the distance thing doesn't last long with us ;)

As many of you may know, I am going to a very strict Christian College. I, to this day, am not sure whether or not I believe in God. We are required to attend Chapel three times a week. I thought I was going to hatehatehate going to Chapel, but I genuinely enjoy it. (Although my boyfriend does not. When I like a song, it means everyone around me better be prepared to hate it in a day or so. I keep coming home with all these worship songs, and he is going crazy!! :P) So on that note, I shall go to bed and leave you with this amazing song to listen to and think about :)

College..best four years, or no?

WARNING: THIS POST MAY CONTAIN LOTS OF COMPLAINING!

So with that said, my college experience this far:horrible!
I know as an off-campus student I can't really judge my year yet since classes have yet to start. But I do. I'm that person :P

First big event on campus was for all freshman to go to a Clipper's game. Did I get the memo? Nope. No email, nothing in the mail. No posts online. But yet it was for everyone. So before classes even start I feel like an outcast.

I had decided this past week, I was going to shine this year. Good grades, tons of friends, go to all campus events even if I don't feel like it. I didn't wanna do anything to prevent myself from having a good college life. Now I'm just not sure anymore. I don't have friends. I'm too afraid to go to events alone. Most things are for 2 or 4 people. So of course roomies, where does that put me?

I think this is enough complaining and rambling. I promise not to have another post like this! It was just good to vent!

Slightly bummed,
Meghan
